Sort of hard to explain the first one James. The baffle comes up to where the springs are and then i have had to make a box shape to acomodate them. I don't have a piccie that can explain it better so will try to sort one out. The baffle then attaches to the parcel shelf and every hole on the boot side is sealed with flashing tape.

As for the second one, i have not sealed the rear quarters off yet as that is still a job to do. Still surprised at how good it sounds with it not done.

Dude, once finished the boot will be the same as normal apart from the slight intrusion of the sub

Finally got back to work on the install at last. It’s been a long time in coming and I now have a new amp to house as well, a DLS A6 for the ID MAX.

First I decided to gut the boot a bit and rethink my options

Then I removed the sub and tidied up the baffle ring ready for covering in vinyl. I also cut some length off the bolts as well.

I decided to use the old board that was mounting the amps but I cut holes under where the amps sit for cooling and raised them a bit as well.

Then I got to covering it in carpet. Even though it will be under a false floor I still want it to look tidy. Managed to use the carpet that was on it previously!

That is as far as I got today. Hopefully tomorrow will be remounting the amp rack, mounting the H700 and wiring it all up again (as neat as possible). Then I have to get on and tidy the sub mounting baffle.

I love the look of DLS and Genesis kit. It's impossible to make an install look bad if it's got them in! Plus they sound good too, obviously....

I was just thinking yesterday how my sub didn't drop quite as low as I'd like, and it's a shame to only be putting ~500 watts when my DLS amp will happily make 900w!

We should have an SXOC sound-off some time. I'll be no-where near the SPL gurus, but I think my setup has a decent stab at Sound Quality.
Must... Resist.... Temptation.... To install.... A huge Sub..........

Space was getting tight on the amp rack and I still had to place the H700 so I built a raised platform for it to sit on. Also means that there is more room for the subway of wiring.

And a picture of it installed in the boot for the first time.

The rest of the day was spent wiring everything in again for the umpteenth time but here is a few shots of the almost finished amp rack.

and shots with the false floor. Notice that the battery now lives in the boot of my car. This gives me the space up front to install my intercooler.

Do you need a spare for the MOT? I think not.

A spare gets checked if it exists to make sure that it is roadworthy. Does not say that it has to exist in the first place

If it does (Which I'm not sure it does)just sling it in a bin bag and onto the back seat for the purpose of the MOT

No spare required for MOT, but if there is one it must have legal tread.

I guess your boot is going to be quite shallow when this is done, I considered a false floor for my install. I was glad I hadn't when I got a puncture a couple of months back!

Still, looks ace and it's gonna Rock. Hard.

I think that the boot floor will sit at the same height that the old one did so apart from the sub sitting out from the baffle i should be able to finally do the shopping when i need to.

Apart from all them plastic bags vibrating with the air movement!! i used to have that when i went shopping lol! the only way to drown it out is to wack the volume RIGHT up

my false floor will not be the same size as normal as the battery takes up space on the right hand side but once i have redone the false floor i will measure up dimensions
