updates please
Hi
I did measure up for an Impreza floorpan swap (I have a 96 sti too), but I don't think it fits if you want to keep it 4WD. To keep the front driveshafts straight you need to extend the front overhang about 4 inches even without a radiator, which would look all wrong IMO. Alternatively you could move the engine and box back and just angle the driveshafts but steering lock would be seriously compromised, and I don't know how long the CV joints would last.
Still, I'd be happy to be proved wrong
As for registering, I don't think I have any choice but to get it IVA'd - its just too modified. There are some issues with that obviously, mostly with original Minor features like the drip rails that will not pass the min radius regs, but we'll just have to overcome those nearer the time.
Nothing worthy of updates recently, just playing with different exhaust and pipework options, and also been busy with other stuff.
The new BIVA rules do look a pain, but this bloke just got his Model A ford passed. It's been built with a bit of 200SX in there. The rear suspension and a CA18DET in there. Looks to be a case of carefully studying the rules
- any links to a project build for the ford ?
