Tougher than I thought - new runaround?!

    Here's the rub

Got a 1993 K reg Fiesta 1.1 and although it does 50+MPG I'm not entirely sure it's "for me"

The missus however, likes it, apart from the fact she finds it difficult to drive as the clutch is a bit erratic (cably rather than hydraulic like shes used to) and there's no power steering.

    What we need:

Something that's got a "bit" of poke - bear in mind a 1.1 fiesta is SLOW, so anything sub 10 sec to 60 would do the trick nicely and then some

Something that's reliable, and cheap to fix if it all goes wrong

Something preferably RWD but this is not the be all/end all

Something that returns half decent mileage - say 30mpg, that would be nice

    Something reasonably cheap to insure

    What we dont need:

Dont really need 4 seats, so a 2 seater may fit the bill

Something immensely fast, or even moddable, a standard car is where it's at

Something that's going to break every 5 mins

    What we dont want:

Anything without PAS - the missus has a hard time of it

Anything over £1000 - cos that's going to be a max budget

Any ideas - the more the merrier?

How about a nice RS2000. Good cars for your money IMO.

No use getting an E30 if you want good fuel consumption . Unless it was a 318, but then it woudn't have "a bit of poke".

    How about a Honda CRX?
