    Wink Respraying

    would it be advisable to respray a car totally black, blue or silver even if it is bright white

    silver uses a white base coat anyway doesnt it?

    i have no idea, but the japanenes love their white colour i dont

    silver should go staright on, but as for black, you may need a darker base coat, but i'm no expert

    which colour did you want? black goes over white very well.

    I cant think of a colour that wont go very nicely over white

    its that white which all jap cars comw with i was thinking there mite be a problem, guess not. How much would a full respray cost if done to a good standard

    bayside is expensive paint.
    if you want a cheaper alternative that it a very good likeness try trophy blue (rover/mg)

    Depending on where you go, £1.5K to £2.5k for a good job.

    I would say £1500 for a good job.

    Depending on Finish/ paint used, uyour going to be a minimum of about £400 just for materials alone, paint is approx £30 per litre, you need at least 2 of base coat, then there's laquer, then there's filler/ paper/ heat etc

    Then you have to strip the car of whats not to get painted - done properly, mask the returns and checks, this could take well over a two days alone, that is after you have preped every panel, then paint. So your talking about 5 days work for possibly 2 guys at approx £300 min per week, then add profit fot the guy to stay in business.....

    Hope that is a help to see where the money goes.
