APT Mapping - Apexi Power FC

APT are highly experienced and extremely competent in mapping a variety of different systems. We use the Motec PLM Wideband Lambda Reader for monitoring Fuelling. We have various other pieces of equipment, such as a Sun Exhaust Gas Analyser and 'Det Cans' which may be used also.

For the Nissan 200SX we recommend and specialise in the Apexi products.

For Low-to-Moderate powered cars, the Apexi S-AFC range is an excellent choice to give an adequate range of adjustment to the Fuelling system.

For Moderate-to-Higher powered cars, the Apexi Power FC, which replaces the factory ECU, gives full and very versatile control over the Fuelling and Ignition conditions.

The Mapping of this device is very specialised and should not be undertaken by anyone without the relevant experience or equipment required to monitor the engine.

In our experience, many Engine Tuners only look at the Map in a very basic way. We have seen Maps where as little as 10% of the available adjustment points have been visited. We write the whole Map, including Warm-up, Idle, High Boost and everything inbetween. This will result in a car which is much nicer, safer and more economical to drive.

The cost of Installation and Mapping of the Power FC starts at £400. This price will cover most scenario's, but we would ask for detailed information on each individual application before providing a firm quotation.

We can also provide a Fitting/Mapping Service for the D'Jetro (MAP Based) version of the Power FC. This system replaces the cars Mass Airflow (or MAF) Sensor with a Manifold Absolute Pressure (or MAP) Sensor. Please enquire for details.

We would normally require the car for at least 2 days to effectively complete this service.

    Thanks.

    Christian.

    Hi Christian,

Any availability from 12/11/05 to 15/11/05? It would be for fitting a Power FC, 555 injectors, and mapping.

    Cheers

Out of curiousity, why is using a MAP sensor better than an AFM?

You lose the airflow restriction and voltage limit of the MAF. Also, you don't get the overfuelling when lifting off the throttle as the air doesn't get measured twice.

I thought overfuelling on lift off was more to do with BOV's?

There are indeed some issues with AFM's and some Turbo combinations that are eliminated when using a MAP based system and, Yes, BOV's can also cause issue's.

In my opinion, in an ideal world, every 200SX would run a D'Jetro Power FC, but in reality for 350-400bhp, the MAF based Power FC system is more than adequate.

Not sure if Gary shares this opinion!!

    Christian.

    Hi Gary, Christian and Chris

Thanks for the excellent work on my car. It is now much smoother and feels great to drive.

I am very happy with the power figure.

    Cheers

Just a quick question, have you mapped a 200sx on E-85 bioethanol, I want too run around the 350 - 400 RWHP mark.

    Thumbs up Happy customer

Just wanted to say thankyou to the guys at APT who Installed and mapped my Power FC recently. The car made 360bhp on the dyno and I'm really pleased with the results. The car feels like a complete animal on the road and runs like a dream. They were keen to answer my questions and there knowledge on SR20's seems to be great. Also it's the first time I have taken my car to a garage and it's been finished on time.

I've just got an SR20 PFC that i plan on fitting to my CA18. I think it's the early S14 SR20 PFC. Couple of questions about mapping quotes:

How much to fit (rewire) the ECU and then map it?
How much to just map it, presuming I give you the car with it already rewired and running ok; with copied AP engineering tweaks?

    Rough spec:
    CA18DET
    720CC Injectors
    GT2871R 0.64AR @ 1.6 decreasing to 1.5bar by the redline.

    Cheers.

How much would it cost to map my SR20det with GT2871r 0.64, Power FC D-Jetro, not sure on injectors yet but will be bigger then 550 as im aiming for 350bhp.

    Cheers.
