yeah the only thing is they sr20 is a much taller block then the cossie and bonnet clearance is a slight issue, hense the chassis mounting. We shall have to see.

I too love Mk2 Escorts. PPC did a feature a while back on a Mk2 with a CA18. Yours should be fab. I hope to fire up my SR20DET engined 67 Alfa GT this weekend.
I had to go top mount due to space issues. Powerspeed did a lovely job building me my exhaust. You are only down the road from me so if you fancy a visit and tyre kick drop me a PM. Would have loved a nose around Jim's Anglia but he is too far away from me.
Cheers
Jim

The alpha looks brilliant mate!
That's a beautiful looking Alfa
Thanks Jim
Fighting with the electrics at the moment trying to work out what the wires coming off the alternator two pin pluge R/W is to the warning light but cannot workout the other.
Also as I am not using the S14 clocks the analogue signal out of the speed sensor is a bit weak so may end up with magnet on the prop and no input to the ECU
Updated pics (just a link until my membership goes through)

The Alpha is gorgeous and really needs its own project thread.
I thought for post 1000 on sxoc I would post some pics of how the car started when I got it and with its first engine
And a couple with the CA...
At the minute im going ahead with a change of wheel to get a fresh look, hopefully updates will be up soon
Cheers, Jim.
fit like jim long time no speak however i have been keeping an eye on this every so often, conversion looks good and retaining the firewall seam made all the difference i think its a big mistake when people lose parts like that as they are part of the charachter of the car, cant wait to see her at crail
also your on about new wheels, as you have upset the purists with the engine conversion what about a set of
rota grid v
in bronze with her lowered a bit more still with the ermine white would look pretty awesome
They actually look really good!
Im hoping to have new wheels fitted this week and il get pics up! Cant wait to get back up to crail, would love to run a 12 there without having to go down south for it!
Cheers, Jim
Another update....
Managed to get the car sat on the ground again after changing the wheels. I opted to go for 32gts alloys. There was actually a lot of work involved as I had to change my hubs to 5 stud so it took a while to get them on. Im happy with the results as I think it gives the car a totally different image.
And an engine one...
I will get better pics soon in the good weather, and hopefully a quarter mile run is next in the line!
Cheers,
Jim.
Looks fab Jim!
Hope to have mine on the road in the next few weeks (hopefully before the summer ends)

Another update:
Got some phone pics tonight after the car had a full front end respray. The splitter hasnt been painted yet so isnt on in the pics. It actually didnt look to bad but when it was moving the front looked a bit high
The other car is my mates who done the painting
Cheers,
Jim.
Is that at Scottie's Jim? I always have a gander down that street when I pass to see if there's anything interesting in the drive, its always that van though
