    Std Brake caliper spec

I've just picked up some big Brembo Calipers (not from a Nissan) All 4 pots, the fronts are truely huge, at approx 11.5" long take a 34mm disc, the rears are 9" long and take a 30mm disc.

So I'm looking for some info on the std S14 4 pot caliper. If you have one handy please can you tell me

    approx length
    size of each piston
dimension between the hub mounting points
Offset of the mounting face to the centre line that the disc runs.
Distance from imaginary line between the mounting points to the edge of the pads

This info will help me decide which route to take with these brakes

I was thinking of some 324mm Nissan discs, but they may not be big enough . I've seen AP do a 343mm disc upgrade for a 17" rim (on a liner), I think this is the size Bren runs on his S13, Bren is this right?

Can anybody (inc Bren ) recommend a place I could find some bells and rotors of approx 330 - 340mm

    Thanks all

Hi there, im looking into brakes at the moment aswell. I know you could get willwood rotors of all sizes from Rally designs. They can also supply a range of undrilled bells and solid billet mounts for custom specification.

    Hope this helps

Hmm yes I've seen people mention them before as a good supplier, they do a 331mm rotor and bells of all descriptions

    Poor response

Come on, give me a hand. I don't have a set of these anymore so I can't answer all the questions myself

standard R33/34 GTR brembos are 324x30 discs, other system are custom, I think.
And yes, they are huge (need 8x17jj rims).

    • Length: ~220mm
    • Piston diameter: 38mm as you look at the caliper. Not sure if the internal diameter is different
    • Distance between the centre of the hub bolt holes: 100mm
    • Offset of the mounting face to the centre line that the disc runs: difficult to be sure. The slot in the caliper for the disk to run through is 34mm; the mounting face is 5mm set back from that, as far as I can measure. That would make your dimension 22mm, assuming the disk runs perfectly centrally in the caliper's slot
    • I can't help you with the last one, as I've not got any pads handy
