Just been out for a run with a G tech pro...

    Anyone else had a go?

I borrowed this one off Steve as was eager to know what sort of performance the 200 is kicking out compared with a normal figure of 0-60 in 7.1 seconds on a standard car

    1st run:

Too much wheelspin... lost traction up to 7k rpm in 1st... hit 2nd accelerated to 70mph then coasted and pulled in... 0-60 in 5.78 seconds... NOT BAD!!

    2nd run:

Tyres warm now - fed clutch in at 3000rpm and pulled away spot on... hit 7krpm... shifted up to 70mph and coasted.... 0-60 in 5.54 seconds....

Ok one more attempt then thats it (value clutch and gearbox too much)....

    3rd run:

fed clutch in as usual.... started wheelspinning at 5krpm but kept it planted hoping for grip.... - hit rev limiter - gave up after that....

So my motor hit 60mph in 5.54 seconds... not bad at all I thought!!!

    Anyone else had a go?

had a go in a friend's CRX with one, never managed it in mine yet, my car's always too broken to use it in anger

he got a 7.1-7.3 second 0-60 range with the gtech, which is damned good, for a 160bhp 1.6 NA

    good times for yours

Yeah I got a best of 5.30s in my S13. 60mph in my S13 is something like 7100rpm in 2nd so I wince every time I test it lol, changing to 3rd would balls up the time.

    I managed 5.09 to 60 in my (roughly 260BHP) s14a...... I'm happy

Oh, and that was with the Gtech calibrated perfectly, and a great launch

ROFL - not yet.... need more practice

I think 0-60 in 5.09 seconds on a 260bhp S14a is a little optimistic to be honest... mid 5's seems about right... IIRC Steve did a 0-60 in 5.1 with circa 300bhp and he is now pushing nearer 350 and reckons high 4's now....

I'm confident with decent tyres I should see low 5's....

But I'm well happy - didnt realise it was THAT quick

Now I need to try the 1/4 mile timer

I managed 5.1 with a bit of wheelspin, and a passenger.

Sub 5 has to be one the cards I reckon.
The G-Tech Pro is supposed to be relatively accurate. Certainly a hell of a lot better than using a stopwatch

I'd love to practice a bit more but I have taken Steves comments on board about knackering the clutch / gearbox... there are only so many 3000 rpm starts the 200 will take!

    explains it then....

I must admit if I had decent grip then would be looking at around 5 seconds dead... but even feeding the accelerator in gently results in wheel spin from about 5krpm up so have to shift up at 6krpm and use 2nd the pull me up to 60mph...

Even so it shows just how capable these cars are... wonder who has had the fastest recorded 0-60 time on the board?

The older G-Techs have a quarter mile facility on them too, so I assume the new ones do as well. Alls you need is a nice long straight piece of road at two in the morning....

i wish i could launch my car properly, quickest i managed is 5.9 thats in a s14a with stage 1 mods. i was quicker with the traction control turned off, dont think it set up very well. that was measuring it with my ap22.

i got a time of 4.7 with my dads r33 though but will go quicker with a decent driver

My times were 7 secs with the gayest launches ever I must have taken 3 secs to get moving, the wheels cant help either

It should be much better now NUR spec is on and the boost is up to 1 bar, feels much quicker anyway

My lauches are VERY hit and miss, and that was datascan plugged in for around an hour going round various roads....

I find around 5000rpm, slipping the clutch more or less all the way to the gear change into 2nd works tremedously. Mind you I have the clutch to do this, and now on what is effectively my fourth gearbox

The only other time I lauched that well was off the lights against a subaru imprezza PPP, he wasnt impressed when I beat him off the line, I was gob smacked, it hooked up and just went

Set it up properly, punish the clutch a little and the launch control does what it says on the tin, car hooks up and first is over in a ridiculously short time with minimal wheelspin and maximum motion.......... I would bet one of my internal organs though that if I tried this now my gearbox would die, or failing that my AP clutch
