Painting my car orange - yes or no?

One of our customers owns a company that amongst other stuff refurbishes fork lift trucks.

He also happens to be an excellent friend of my brother. I was chatting to him the other day and saw a picture of their refurb centre - huge spray booth for spraying the counterweights as new. I remarked that he could get my car in there and do a decent job on it for me - to which he agreed he would!

The only problem is as it's a freebie, it'll have to be the fork lift truck colour scheme

As it happens, that isn't too bad - it's orange and black. Bright orange.

The only thing I'm worried about is being seen as ripping off Driftworks... Should I be worried and see if I can supply my own paint (or see if he's got another freebie colour!), or just grab the freebie!?

EDIT : I forgot, my car's a facelift S13 and it's currently white with dark grey 17"s. The wheel's will be staying. If I go for the freebie, I'd go orange body and black roof.

As I'm hoping to get into drifting (practice this year, D1 next year? ), it might look a bit too Driftworksy?

    I like orange
Is it anything like Driftworks orange though? There's lots of oranges around
I say do it anyway, maybe throw in a bit of the black to really set things off

Orange was the best contrasting colour for our drift car and its burgendy paintwork. However I was also worried about the Driftworks car using orange so I added a lot of white to differentiate it. I then found out that Driftworks use orange and white

But then it was too late so borrocks to it

Orange is cool, go for it

Sounds a bit Euro, i prefer dark metallic colours on these cars. But each to their own im sure with a bit of imagination it will look good and for a freebie you gotta go for it!

I was thinking of re-spraying my car Rage Illuminous orange

The only problem i could see though was how colour fast the paint is.

I would say go for it, but chances are you will need to get it done in a few years again due to the colour fading. The paint use for fork lifts and such like is normally a 2 Pak paint system - single layer high solid - although giving an adequate finish will fade in time (like all those lovely pink, sorry, red cars )

But the fact its free - go for it!

Hope that sorted of helped ya make ya mind up a bit

The actual colour is Pantone 151

The paint is pretty durable, judging by the crap the forklifts have to put up with - not heard of any fading issues. The finish out of their workshop it excellent too, so that's all good.

I quite like the look of the S13 in orange and think it'll look ace with a black roof - I'm just not sure on the whole Driftworks connection... Perhaps I should post the question on their forum!
