    Do you actually use them?

I've never used mine, apart from sheer boredom mate.

A lot of muddy lanes in london then

You do have water in your resevoir for the windscreen wipers dont you?

Sometimes it needs to be full, i find, for them to work.

They are great for when people tailgate you, just give a squirt of headlamp washer, it goes right over your own windscreen to create mess on the bloke behind! (just don't do it so he can't see and crashes into you...)

it's common for the connector to corrode quite badly on the pump due to where the washer bottle is.
Mine corroded so bad, the wires fell off altogether.

Mine don't either... but then, the car is cleaned WAY before the lights can get dirty enough to need them!

I find mine only work when the washer bottle is full or reasonably full. I think this is deliberate so that when your washer fluid level is getting low, priority is given to your windscreen not your headlights. It confused me the first time this happened too!

I find my headlight washers entertaining for zapping pedestrians as I drive into work

Mine have never worked. I just thought it was a "feature" much like the dodgy dash lights

mine do... the washer reseviour and the pumps are right at the front of the engine bay on the Drivers side... you can get to them by taking off the trim out of the wheel well... dunno about the headlight washer pump cos its a lot bigger than the windscreen pumps, but you can use Micra windscreen pumps on a 14... or S13 windscreen pumps if you bodge the pumps by unclipping the main bit from the tubing and twisting it 90 degree's
