    Cams and pulleys

Can you advise me please, the VVT mechanism on the inlet cam of my S14 has gone pete tongue. Nissan have quoted over £600 for an new setup I was wondering if it was straight forward to just say fit an HKS cam and pulley and dispose of the VVT? Is it also possible to run an HKS inlet cam with a standard exhaust cam or do you have to have both HKS cams and pulleys fitted?? sorry for all the questions but i need to know as much as possible as soon as possible as the car is off the road again due to the VVT mechanism braking and also damaging the inlet cam pulley.

Im not 100% clear on whats involved in ditching the vvt system to be honest.

Apperently you have to clock up the oil feed to the VVT solanoid if you want to ditcht he vvt but Im unclear ont he details.

    Sorry

It might be easier just to get a second hand vvt sproket and cam
