    Inlet problems

My VVT mechanism has broken on my S14. The little coller on the front has broken causing the whole thing to sit off set on the cam pulley and crack a tooth off the pulley. Can anyone advise me about changing the cams and getting rid of the VVT system. What would i have to do to achieve this? Is it possible to run say an HKS inlet cam and pulley in conjunction with a standard exhaust cam?

Any help is appreciated as i need to get my baby up and running as soon as possible.

There was a recent thread on here about ditching the NVCS, and the general concensus was one of 'it's usually better to keep it, unless you're running big power and much higher revs' from what i recall, have a search and see what it returns.

I just used the mystical powers of the search button and found these threads:

    http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=133979

and this in the useful threads section:

    http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=129420

Read them carefully, do you REALLY want to lose the NVCS?

If your doing the inlet, you may as well do the exhaust cam too

Thanks for the replies guys. I dont want to ditch it but when the man at Nissan quoted £630 before VAT i thought changing cams etc may be an alternative if i cant get a second hand setup.
