we (the company that i work for) can get hold of it...

depends on what size you want, and how thick you want the steel over pattern / over plain

    Also known as Durbar sheet...

    Try:

    Bornmoor Metal's in Bury, Lancs. 0161 797 6955

    we pay about £125 for an 8' x 4' x 6mm thick sheet of ali durbar/chequer plate.

Also you might find somewhere nearer to you by searching www.applegate.co.uk

Its a very good industrial search engine for UK engineering businesses.

I checked out this stuff in B&Q last night for Grazor. They had sheets 100cm * 50cm for £22. The fancy looking stuff was £38 for the same size

B&Q then if you don't mind paying through your nose

Searching Applegate.co.uk will find you a local stockholder that sells for cheap, if you only want a small piece have a cruise around your local scrap metal merchants as they normally have plenty of decent off cuts lay around.

*** NOTE: Not car scrap yards! But Scrap metal merchants... Look for ones specialising in Non-ferrous materials.
