What age 200 would £6k get me?

    As above

Looking about £6k seems to be a V reg standard version with circa 50k on it. Does this sound about right?

    Nope

I'm torn between an RX7, a 200 or maybe even a beefyish BMW 328 or something. Even considering an american muscle car... If i'm honest, i'd love to get an RX7 but they terrify me

Yep, if in good condition with FSH & touring.

Realistically, 6k would get you a mint S or T reg, with FSH and about 60-80k on the clock.

For a V-reg, you'd probably end up with a no service history car, or slightly higher mileage / damaged & repaired car.

Check www.parkers.co.uk for typical used car prices

    Looking at AutoTrader I'd disagree

I've been checking out prices (in preparation for buying in January) and I've seen a couple of V Reg examples with ~60k miles and FSH for the £6k mark.

I'll probably try and buy a modded one off this forum though, infact I might already have one lined up

    Hi
According to Parkers £6k should get you a 99 V reg Touring model with 40,000 miles. If you went for the non-touring it says you could get a 00 W reg for a little over £6k with 30,000 miles...both figures are for Private 'Good condition' meaning with FSH etc - if you bought from trade it would be a lot higher. Best value car around for miles!

I paid 7k for mine a year ago for a 2001 s14a with 36k on clock but I was told I had a bargain, not sure what way prices have gone but I stil recon it will fetch at least 7k now as my mate Paul just bought a W plate with 29k on clock for 8k, and it wasnt that well looked after had a few scuffs and holes in door card from breif case of previous owner stank of fags etc etc but he has got it looking immaculate now mind you.

But back to the thread you'd get a t/v plater with around 50k on clock for 6k I recon
