Ok, tell you what, you guys decide what exsisting intercooler youd like if you had free choice and money was no option and Ill buy one and produce similar units The fancy staggered core designs maybe a little tricky so bear that in mind, a good solid basic design would be best in terms of cost.
It's gotta but one of the Big B a s t a r d HKS jobbies then!Originally posted by bren:

I'm sure someone can tell you which model, guys?
Bren, that'll be the HKS R-Type for Silvia S14 then.

You have my permission to order it Bren.
I'd go along with the HKS type, seeing as I was considering one of them in the future anyway.
Dave.
I like the idea of a Type-R but is there a way we can run the pipes like the S13's rather than loosing the front fogs and having to cut the battery tray etc. Could we move the rad back slightly and get a hard pipes that go through the gap to join onto samco's ?
I'll get me coat......
Ok then, HKS Type R it is Ill find the cheapest source and get one ordered today
Excellent, wil you have the Apex version made by Monday?Originally posted by bren:

Well Ive asked what you fancy, heard all your comments, listened to the pros and cons of various FMICs, seen the general concensus to go for HKS Type R and......
Ignored you all Research has led me to believe that the Greddy V-SPL is the better unit so Im ordering one of those today
Youll all be happy with the results, trust me
I take it it's a Greddy V Special, the best one they do is below (I think)
Trust Performance Parts
Vehicle Silvia
Year Made 93.10~99.1
Chasis S14
Engine SR20DET
Core Type Type25
Size H 292 L600 W134
Layer 4
Side Tank (In) No.410
Side Tank (Out) No.410

Pipe Size 70Ø-80Ø
Look for the last S14 IC
If thats the one it's ferkin huge m8
It's basically the same H&L as the HKS Type R but its 50% thicker
No the Greddy V-SPL kits use a 276x600x76mm core.

I only need a basic design so we can have the core as HUUUUUGE as we want it Ill make my intercooler as big as possible, dont worry.
