im going to be running around 280ish bhp on my s13. I drive it quite hard and drift it abit.

Would double ester 300V 10w/40 or 15W50 be ok?

If not what motul oil would you recommend as i get can that cheap.

    Thanks milez

300v 15w-50 is ideal for the summer months, give it time to warm up befor giving it beans.

    Cheers

    Nissan
    S13
    1992
    CA18DET (5.000miles after a complete rebuild)

Daily Driver from April till October. The car will also see a few trackdays and I drive it hard on the german Autobahn with no speedlimit.

I'm currently using Silkolene Pro-S 10-W50 and I'm satisfied so far. Just want to know if you agree with my choice. (It was pretty damn expensive to import the oil from the UK! ). How long are the recommended change intervals? And would you suggest to change the oil when I bring the car back on the road each spring? Thanks in advance!

Yep Pro S 10w-50 is ideal and it does not get better. 8,000 mile changes will be fine with the odd track day.

    Cheers

    Hey there Oilman,

I've spent quite a while reading this thread top stuff

due to an oil change in a hurry last weekend ,,,,

I ended up using Castrol Edge 10w60 ,

    Im driving,,,

    Make nissan 200sx
    Model s14a
    Year 1999
    Engine Size 2000
    Engine Type sr20det
    Any Mods : Stage 3a .... GT2871R 740cc injectors FMIC 20psi boost etc....
Type of driving: fast road / some track

What I'm wondering .... I know you say the 10w60 is too thick.....

but do you think it's so bad that I should drain my lovely new oil and change it now
or would it be ok till next (reasonably soonish) service ???

We dont recomend 10w-60, its the wrong visocisty when hot, for drift use a good 10w-50 or 15w-50 synthetic. The best are ester based such as the Silkolene Pro S and the Motul 300v.

    Cheers
