isn't the difference that one has been physically changed more than altering the map
i know when i connected datascan to a car it showed that it had an after market daughter board.
this could be what they are looking for more than it being remapped
remapping is changing the standard map on the ecu
chipping involves opening up the ecu and adding a microchip/daughter board with a different map.
i would say that was more of a remap then a "chipped ecu"
