I cannot get the rear portion of my valve cover to seal where the vc gasket mates with the half moon that sits in the head. Does anybody know where to get 1 piece valve cover gaskets with the half...
excessive heat buildup where, in the combustion chambers or exhaust ports?
edit: reread what you posted.
was this concluded using EGT probes in each runner?
Id like to see paper figures showing that above 300bhp the manifold becomes restrictive. 300BHP = roughly what american standard of HP?
after fitting my stock manifold back on from an XSpower...
bolt the det cans to the engine block rather than the intake manifold.
with them bolted to your intake manifold, you are going to mostly hear your valvetrain.
I would be looking at that unequal length 800bhp manifold, before any of the others posted.
It mimics the factory manifold, that is why. You should contact the seller and ask him if runners 1n4...
if you insist on running it upsidown, lop the filler neck off and have a circlular aluminum cap neatly welded in place.
cometic MLS because they are reusable.
I spent more money on nissan gaskets than I needed to at the start of my ca18 career.
how long has it been fitted to the engine, and what turbo/boost pressure/power estimate are you dealing with?
do you regularly take the engine to its rev limiter?
Im thinking about asking...

anybody running a CAS holder on their ca18?
I modified the factory cover in the past so it only utilized 1 dowel pin and I ruined 2 camshafts and 2 CAS...

im going to try and add backpressure to the exh system and see if that doesnt force energy out the wastegate port.
an AVCR, but with the actuator rod physically removed from the flapper door, it still makes 25+ psi. something is totally unhappy in this equation.
I have a cusco 6 point mounted in a full interior s13 including back seats and all plastic trim, everything.
thank you that is very useful, I will try and add backpressure into the equation and see what comes of it.
stock manifold upgraded turbo users chime in please :)
so, I decided to swap back to the stock cast iron turbo manifold on my setup. I like that 1/4 and 2/3 runners are paired, and therefore energy at turbine wheel per engine revolution theoretically...
jap spec engines do have the baffle box ontop of both valve covers. Its not a breather box, its a baffle box thats intended to keep oil down not freely splashing up and out.
yes
cause - blowby gasses
fix - spring holding dipstick down, top of tube (inlet) slighty crimped with dikes.
I have an extra set of valve covers im workin on as well, to help the engine breath...
yes curious as well how this tubby suited the ca18.
get it honed and fit some new piston rings with proper end gap and be done.
after u get a wideband be done that is...and maybe an SAFC?
im building a KA with Arias pistons right now, and Arias tech suggested the following.
.024 min top...suggested .028 for 21psi
.024 min second...suggested .024 (was told some builders like to run...
I spoke with a fellow on nicoclub who said he has 1 piece rubber gaskets for the valve cover with the half moons molded into the cover gasket...like on an sr20. He doesnt know who made them,...
Ive been reading that for quite some time now, that with forged pistons oil squirters are not needed. However, It has also been suggested that those squirters cooling effect on the piston help to...
I overfilled my ca one time, not sure how much over though. I have an accusump and an oil cooler, and long oil cooler lines, and somewhere along the course of the oil change I wasnt paying...
