Also very happy with my Exedy... Agree on the out of balance thing, my pressure plate had a few extra holes after balancing it.
The US Exedy sites don't list them try the Australian site, they...
bit of a back-front install but looking good!
I normally put the pistons in first, thus you don't have to worry about conrods hitting oil jets and conrod bolts scratching crank journals.
Yip
Aaaah thought so... Would be cool if one can maybe use bolts from another application, like the guys mention above.
My engine builder requested I buy the Sub-Assembly kit as well but could not find one, only for SR20
Do one even get something like that for the CA18?
ARP-202-4302 if i'm not mistaken my box at engine builder at the moment :(
scan a copy for those of us outside the UK ;)
Ha saw this dipping process on Discovery Channel the other night, they explained how it worked and whats involved... damn interesting, money well spent!
Sorry that Murphy got hold of you mate... It was looking so good!
Looks like you got the gadgets to make it work, keeping toes crossed ;)
Yeah it was a complete new rebuilt... I have a gut feeling its the big ends, the reason why I say this, the big thrust bearing (middle one) well the crank didn't want to drop into the block, it...
Ummmm not what I would like to hear though
But I'll be able to know this by draining oil and checking for shavings?

Using a Exedy 4 puk copper clutch, worked like a charm can't really quote on how it handles abuse haven't gotten that far yet :(
Unlucky indeed... I have been trying to reason why the guy who sold me the thing, but its impossible, he's denying every little fact.
Sorry to bring this old post up totally forgot to give an update on what caused it...
Believe it or not it was a pieces of turbine wheel that was hitting the manifold during the reversion...
Hey mate I feel your pain in the situation - also lost a set of Forgies recently
I know forgies had very different clearances than the normal pistons, especially Wiseco's they are known to cause...
Hey mate nice build there...
Note on that oil cooler lines... It looks the exact same stuff I fitted to my motor... Had huge problems with leakage, I'd say just double check the sandwitch plate,...
Sherman... I'm from South Africa also close to impossible to source the stuff locally, I just order the stuff directly from the US or UK, and have it posted this side.
I'm on the verge of buying...
I do believe the downpipe isn't... But the exhaust might very well be the same...

Some pics of the elbow differences...
OOOOH ok... :D had that same problem... with my first set of z32 4 pots... jammed two pieces of wood in there, with some old pads.. did the job.
Another way but not the cleanest/nicest way is to open up the bleed valve... but then you just need to bleed the system again.
Works ;)
The pistons are .5 oversize not sure what size the bore is, I gave the engineer the specs sheet that came with the pistons to indicate what size it must be, he said he will follow that but he also...
Yip there is that high pitched ping as the RPM falls, but comes up every now and then when the RPM rise as well
