if I remember correctly the standard stud is okay but you have to just get the elbow on so that the stud is just through then thread a nut on and use it to pull the elbow tight to the turbo.
that looks about 60mm thick, bit of overkill.

Actually you might, BT is trying the BET system here in Inverness and my brother connection is around 6 meg and he is 10 miles from the exchange. This is an exchange upgrade rather than a line.
