£10 for the Sapphire Cosworth intercooler from a scrapyard
£10 for the table leg
the jubilees and hose I had anyway from previous excursions to the scrappers.
My car is a scrapyard challenge:D

not too difficult:)
no cutting of bumper or anything, just had to play around with pipework a bit.Used a b&q table leg and some odd bits of hose.Works fine and fits perfect into the front gap....
I think getting an S13 instead of a Sales rep S14 is a good move to begin with:D
it wont make it overfuel
When I had that it was a boost leak. You may have a small split on one of the hoses that only opens up under pressure.Thats what mine was anyway.
Can you smell petrol?
I AM talking about "proper" intercoolers.
An impreza or cosworth intercooler are "proper" intercoolers aren't they?
They just don't cost 300 quid like a shiny new one does.Still do the same thing...
btw if you get the car up on ramps you will be able to see what you are a doing a LOT easier, and how much space there is.
my pressure sensor is pointing to about 5 o,clock
the sensor is not that heavy that it will shear off.
I like a challenge and saving money:D
There is a fair bit of room to play with in front of the radiator and bodging some stainless steel table legs and some scrap yard hoses together for the...
I don't reckon this would be too difficult to fit:...
tommy
this one?...
so,if we can buy intercoolers for less than £40 that are good for 300bhp plus, why are people spending £250 plus ?
I don't understand the logic.
tommy
is this the one you have:...
like this one for example:

I am thinking,if its good enough for a Cosworth it will be more than...
a guy round at the house fitting new windows saw the back of my s13 in the garage and said "nice motor,is it a Pontiac"
I suppose there are similarities to the untrained eye...
I know, but I don't fancy spending £250 quid on something when there must be a far cheaper alternative that does the same thing.Lots of intercoolers for sale on Ebay that will fit in the bumper....
do you think this would be ok?

ok
I don't want to hack my bumper about to get one to fit,so,what options are there apart from an expensive custom one?
There are loads of cars with intercoolers.Anyone know what will fit into the...
hi
I am running stage 2 with a saab fmic.My question is,would it be worth upgrading the intercooler to a big shiny job?
The benefits of the saab job is the shorter pipework as opposed to a bumper...
should be ok tightened with the main bolt.
Mine is,but only because I couldn.t be bothered to mess around with the other adjuster. As long as the belt is held in place,I can't see any problem.
take all the bolts right out.It comes apart and turns easily then.
