Interesting question and the answer, in short, is no. I have resigned myself to the fact that it must have fell onto the garage floor or the sub frame of the car and that I ended up...
A quick overview of the engine rebuild for anybody who is interested.
-Strip engine, acid dip, clean, paint and powder coat all components (Candy Blue cam cover)
-Inspect and polish crank shaft...
So, updates...
There's a lot to update but I'll condense it down.
Firstly, my forged engine is now complete and returned from DY Engine Services in Bristol. Dave has done a phenomenal job with...
Who did you use? I have a bulk load of parts here ready to be powder coated when I settle on somewhere to take them.
Awesome, thanks.
The ceramic coating was relatively cheap. It was around £170 all in for the manifold and elbow including postage both ways.
Any joy now?
So, around June time last year the Silvia started burning oil after a prolonged idle period (5mins+, as noticed whilst queuing for the Channel Tunnel crossing). I took some advice from a few...
Rent4Ring were very good when we went out there last year.
It's simple enough to do but nobody seems to have the tool! I've got cash waiting to hire one but I'm resorting to just making my own.
That was my plan, I just need to source an old HLA.
With the magentic bottomed DTI, would you base it on the top of the block where the valve covers bolts to?
The tool is meant to drop into the hole the lash adjusters sit in as it's matched to the angle of the valves and also centered in-between them.
It's one of these I'm after, it's so I can measure the valve heights/shims to make sure the rocker arm sits evenly across them. Nissan don't supply the tool and nowhere else sells them apparently. I...

Hi,
I'm wondering if anybody has a suitable valve shim measuring tool for my S15 SR20DET?
Or, if anybody knows of a reliable alternate method for measuring them?
Happy to hire one off a...
As above, one has probably cracked. One went on my S14a and spilt oil all over the M6 toll.
Who is that then? I ask as I live five minutes away from Cannock.
Also, make sure your wheels are well balanced. Wheel wobble at 165MPH on the Autobahn is a little scary...
Be aware of parking at hotels. A lot of hotels only offer parking in a nearby public car...
We did France, Monaco, Italy (Lake Como), Switzerland (Susten Pass, Furka Pass etc), Germany (Stuttgart & Nurburgring) and Belgium (Spa) last year in the S15.
We took a breathalyzer (x2 ideally),...
Looking for something that will take up to 400lb ft torque for my S15 with the stock six speed?
Which would you recommend and what would the price be delivered? Thanks
Really enjoyed the latest episode, especially Hammond!
A proper road trip with your mates/cars? We did about 3K miles around Europe last year and it was epic. Definitely bucket list worthy!
I have been wanting rid of the factory re-trimmed seats for some time. After attending Autosport International last weekend, I managed to nab a great buy on a set of Corbeau RRB's. These seats are as...
I'm unsure to be honest. I did consider getting Eibach springs to fit the BC Coilovers with a softer spring rate.
Following this with interest. I have been considering importing an S14A for a little while. I love my S15, but prefer the S14A shape!
