Oil in bores made no difference. And used crank sprocket mark to cam sprocket mark 48 and 39 between cam marks.

I set piston 1 to tdc put head on torqued down to manuals specs loosened and retorqued. Lined up cam marks. Put belt on. Counted teeth spun twice and rechecked all was lined up still no interferance.

There's 125000 miles on that engine so I did expect to see some wear in rings.
