Is it possible to get a back plate for the smaller diff so it'll fit an S14?

Got a diff from a mate (the smaller of the two), he was told it was a cusco diff when he bought the car. No markings on the diff internals except the gearing (S 37:9 DC 1 1 10).

Loosen the 4 bolts then tap them with a hammer, found this is the easiest way to do it, also from memory you have to take off the driveshaft bolt. But as has been said, you can remove the studs...

I'm in the middle of replacing my crank oil seal, flywheel, clutch, and fitting a S13 gearbox with a SR bell housing in place of my S15 box:wack:
Desperately need some bits (link HERE) to finish...

Mines a white Silvia/S14a with a carbon bonnet and black boot. Hopefully it'll be back on the road again soon:wack:

Five studs have different size splines front and rear. Easy job to do. Can't see why they were cut down, unless they had 20mm bolt ons?

Any idea what happened to the Mooneyes shift knob? Had it for years, if you/Mark/Tech/Robin want to sell it back to me?:) Looking forward to seeing this drifting again.

I'll be getting it from Nissan as they can get it by Tuesday. If you can post up the part number liam, just makes sure they get it right.

Has any one got the part number for the rear crank oil seal? I was changing the gearbox/clutch/flywheel/etc, and found oil on the flywheel due to a weeping seal. As i have to order it over the phone...

Worth remembering the standard speedo reads slightly higher as standard.

My head now hurts from all the searching on here and driftworks, different answeres everywhere:wack: I'll measure it all when it turns up. Pretty sure my diff is an S15 one, so ideally i want to keep...

This was my original thoughts Clive, but i've read threads where it seems the prop will fit ok. I'm sure people have fitted them so we'll see:wack: I'll be checking the welding as i've had a welder...

I've spent ages doing the search thing without a definitive answere. A R32 GTST Welded Diff is on it's way to me (very cheap), so is it a case of getting the driveshafts, front diff mounting bolts...

Mark the position of the CAS and take it out and have a look. Worn splines won't stop it from sparking but they have been known to snap (usually due to not fitting the lugs on front cover.

My money's still on a worn CAS, get a pic up of the CAS splines. People over look this as they may look ok (me included), but they should be basically square shaped.

My first drift day, i'll never forget the rush/fun i had. It was similar spec to yours. So go and have fun. Just keep an eye on temperatures.:)

Before you take it anywhere, is there someone local you can borrow a CAS of just to rule it out.

Upgrade the cooling if possible. Welded diffs come up pretty cheap ocasionally, don't get a 2 way untill you know you're going to need it (later down the line). Bucket seat and harness are...

Put up a pic of the CAS locating splines and the cam splines. It does sound as though this could be the issue.
