it would fail an mot if the car is fitted with sliding rails, but they do not move. its not a fail if there is no sliding rails and they are just fixed.
to get the best position in an s13, cut out...
same with mine. used to be all the time, so replaced faulty lifter. now its just when its cold, think a good oil change with decent oil will help.
Yeah CA lifters are very stubby looking compared to that
i've covered the inside of mine with smears of black sealant
in that vid it sounds too clunky to be the lifters to me clive.

Cheers jeffers, i think if and when i have to replace the cams or upgrade them i'll probably whip the lifters out and give them all a good clean whilst i'm there

the 'failed' lifter was the only one out of them all that was really spongey and soft. The replacement one came from a set from another CA, bit of a gamble i suppose, but we did pretty much what...
