It sounds like your wastegate is opening on the turbo. To suddenly lose 1.5bar, and it not sound like a dump valve venting, it has to be more than just a loose pipework clip.

Ok. Just in case anyone else is searching. The replacement that arrived today reads 0.346 M Ohms and 5.1v.
The one on my car when set to 0.346 M Ohms reads 3v.

Just as my car comes on boost (around 4-4.5K RPM) it goes flat, at 5K it takes off....

Well turns out it was indeed that gasket from the cover plate. The people that rebuild it didn't replace it. Makes me wonder else they cut corners on!

It is definitely gearbox oil coming out. I did actually change the rear crank seal, but the box has been off for weeks and shortly after filling it, out it came again!

I think the Spec S manual follows the same pinout as the Spec R, but with less pins as it won't have boost solenoid etc. When I did mine I followed the guides for the RB25...
