so when i took the valves out there was huge carbon build up on all the stems (exhaust valves) probably stopping the the valves closing properly and impeding flow massively
stripped everything...
fantastic!
Haha, good, I mean I wouldn't have thought it would have made much difference swapping old for new.
I just like to know if there's any 'no don't do this, your engine will explode the car will...
No one else noticed this?
So I was stripping the lifters in my '90 cylinder head but before hand I thought I'd practice on my spare lifters from a facelift head that I had.
Upon stripping them I noticed some differences
...
Currently in the process of rebuilding my head due to a burnt valve and I noticed 2 of the lifters weren't as easy to get out as the others
(I could pull all out with a magnet apart from 2 and had...
Cheers dude, I think I should have enough lying around to Frankenstein this one back together but if not I'll be in touch!!

so i pulled the head off today and low and behold, a valve on cylinder 2 was missing a chunk i'll upload pictures when i get a chance in my project thread
...
That sounds very catastrophic!
Worst I've seen is rod through the block, luckily outside my friends house.
When you say 'did a Valve' how so? Did it lose a chunk, snap? Etc? How much did you...
Interesting! Any catastrophic damage?
If it is a valve I'm just going to replace the offending item with one from the many ca heads I've stripped, there's no visible problems in the rocker.

Not the injector
After compression testing had 10bar on all but cylinder 2 (it had zero)
So I'm ripping the head off next week, think it's valves or hg failure as compression did not increase...
So about 2 days ago following a trip back from Manchester my engine started running on 3.
Easily found which cylinder it was by pulling coilpack plugs
Swapped coilpack and spark plugs - no...
i'm northwest too :)
Turns out the exhaust housing wasn't actually from a t28 so that was a waste, welded the nuts to the studs instead and that seems to be holding strong
Pulled apart the front end and made some new...
10mm bolt on each cable, put handbrake lever down, then simply rotate the end of the cable (At the t bracket) to line the cable up with the opening and push out - same as a brake cable on a bike

ummm i dont think so, the problems i had with the rear lights were basically real dim, one dimmer than the other and bad wiring (boot leaked for aaaaages and wires had massively corroded)
...
Haha thanks dude!
I don't mind having another switch to send em down I'd just like it alllll neat and as it should be.
When I had problems with the rear lights I tore out all the wiring and ran...
So I've been struggling with my headlights not going down for a while
They come up on the stalk and on the service switch, switch on fine etc but when the stalk is switched off or the service...
oh and this was my first attempt at welding cast iron....with an arc welder......so dont laugh!
got hold of a spare exhaust housing and manifold so thought i'd give weldin em up a go and see if that solves my manifold turbo gasket problem
...
so the car has been getting gradually tattier and tattier (problem solving kinda, arches catching, cracking paint etc, fabricating brackets/stays to prevent this.
because the front standard wings...
also while i'm here i fitted a ducktail that i got for i think £110 delivered, TERRIBLE TERRIBLE fit, but hey it was cheap, so i'll trim it up a bit more when i repaint the car
...
terrible for not keeping this thread up to date,
i got them second hand on here and cut the standard centre panel to fit (bit of a faff but nothing some washers cant sort out) oh and wrapped em...
