Good to see my old car in its new home, it was ready for the next stage of upgrades. The steering wheel was one thing I always wanted to change but never got round to!
I spent a long time modding...
Ah great thanks, my 10 year old son enjoys watching the boost pressure for me, on the whole the max it records is usually about right, maybe 1psi lower than the max he’s seen.
It has been...
Yes, a dyno would be the best, but I have a knock sensor installed & as you say the generic maps are a bit rich (it certainly uses enough super unleaded). Only taking it up to 5k I got 17.5psi last...
Has 17psi been found to be safe then? H-Dev said it may take a bit more with a big FMIC when I changed from stage 1 to 1a, the 1a chip had just come out when I got it!
It starts really chucking...
Sorry I realise there are a lot of threads on Gizzmo set up. I’ve read through a lot of them & discovered I had the setup well off when I put in a good few years ago, it actually seemed to work ok...
I don’t like stretched tires + you only have to look at a curb & you have scuffed them! I’ll be running 225/45 & 245/40 (maybe 255) on the 17s, week maybe, but it’s personal choice;)
I have spent...
After a very long time choosing some new wheels I decided on some JR12 I wanted a staggered set & they came in the perfect size (for me at least) of 17x8 ET33 & 17x9 ET25.
However the fronts hit...
Yes proper crap design!
My kids were too young to get in by themselves last time it was on the road, I thought it would work out much better now they can jump in...
Other bit of...
Sorry for stupid question but I just wanted to check its normal after folding the passenger seat forward (for someone to get into the back) to have to push it all the way back to the end of rear...
Yes I’m looking forward to testing the spool time :D
I just remembered as I finished putting my new silenced decat in that years ago I was planning on swapping to a 3” down pipe to go on to the 3”...
I decided make my own silenced decat:

I need to invest in a TIG! But it’s functional. For some reason my exhaust likes the CAT section to be a bit longer than...
I put some NGK BKR7E (copper) plugs in & it runs very nicely at all boost levels now. Although it is a bit boring running at anything less than 16psi on stage 1a!
I used to get everything from Apex, I’m a bit lost now wondering where to get bits from too. There is some stuff on eBay but you never know what you’re getting on there.
Out of interest I checked...
Ah perfect thanks very much, plug gaps too can’t ask for more :D
I’ll get some & report back
Ah, very interesting, thanks! Yes it does sound similar it didn’t ever feel quite right before on my Denso’s sometimes it seemed to run better than others. I think maybe the problem became more...
I put my original standard NGK plugs back in & it’s running very well on boost now (my daughter said it made her face go all funny & gave her a tingly feeling inside!)
These are the ones I took...
It’s been sat for 2 or 3 years just getting occasional started up to try & keep the engine lubed, I just got it back on the road today. It passed the MOT fine it’s running very well off boost.
It...
Yeah that’s what I usually do, but I’m getting old & boring & quite like it being a little bit quieter with the cat in. I was looking at making a decat pipe with a little straight through silencer in...
I’m just getting my S14 back on the road after a few years off & having done a lot of body work.
My tester friend says the new MOT is a lot stricter so it’s much better if you’re actually testing...
Ah, no I hadn’t tried ringing just found the website was down, you’d have thought they’d have a re-direc to the new one!
That number worked a treat thanks :D
I got one new one from Apex a year or two ago, but the car has been off the road since. I just finished tidying up all the body work so want to replace the other before putting it back on the road,...
Tis a very good point. I started mucking about winding the shock up thinking I could get more droop, which I could in theory, but then would need the helper springs as I that lost all the preload to...
I wish it was, mine was still very tight :(
I had them set to full soft to see if the knocking stopped, it didn't. The knackered one is much easier to compress than the new good one, with them both set to full soft off the car (& the knackered...
