I'm looking at a PR of 1.35-1.4 max...
no, youre right, the ecu would be shouting in italian and german words that i dont understand :wack:
Thing is, its been done a few times without remapping (turbo, no remap) at 5psi, the only aggro...
Cheers Zepp. :)
Makes perfect sense. I can live with those numbers. Might look at a walboro too, just as an insurance policy.
Looks like its the 250cc and a bit of ecu fiddling should make a silly...
Sounds about right. 2.0 engine uses the same injectors but is quoted at 150hp. :)
The Volvo injectors I'm looking at are 250cc. That should do the job. Until I blow it up and then build a monster!!!...
You know that moment when you know youre wrong. you just cant pinpoint why. or how you screwed it up?
Yup. just had one of those. joys.
dis rpm = fudge cfm ...
Heres my other problem....
The turbo i have laying about, i discounted as i believed it too small.
But it came from a 1.9L vectra diesel. 112cu/in @4500 rpm x0.9ve = a lot less than i want!!!
...
Cheers dude.I couldn't work it out whether to restrict in or out!!
I've tried other forums but most seems to have their heads stuck up their asses, soo i thought i'd ask the gurus of all things turbo....:)
Right. My little project alfa 147 is crawling along....
Garrett were about as much use as a chocolate catalyst...
No fricking idea. :wack:
I found lots of posts where peoples were having issues with vacuum solenoids. Can see why when you write it out like that. :)
I just emailed garrett. It really is hard...
Y20dth engine. seems its off an astra and is vacuum operated! bloody vauxhalls....
Ok. Now need an actuator that holds shut till 5 or 6 psi then opens.
Sorry Jonny, i'm being a spacktard. I'll explain.
i have an alfa 147, 1.6 16v 120ps. I'm building up a turbocharger set up using oem pistons and not lowering compression. So i can only run at a...
It is, you're right. But is it going to move with 5 psi up its trumpet?
I cannae see anything that tells me it's spring rate.
yeah, you aint wrong! i emailed that parts company but they reakon they dont have anything that works at 5psi! :)
Busy looking at saab 93 turbo and rover actuators to try and find a relevant one....
Hmm. I just punted 14psig down it. No movement at all. So i gave it 28 and nada.
Connected up a little venturi i use for vac and ran it at 14psi, so pulling a decent vacuum and back she comes. Deffo...
Tried blowing :wack:
It only goes when you suck.
Fnar Fnar.
Ooh, and cheers for that site Mark, need gaskets and what have you.

Looks like this. Suck on the tube on the actuator...
Googled the bejesus out of it. Seems diesels use a vacuum pump to create their vacuum for brakes and stuff. This is off a cdti vectra so prolly the same set up.
Johnny, what's the standard t25...
(probably, but i have to ask!)
My little turbo project is meandering along nicely, but the wastegate on my gt1544 appears to close with vacuum. Now i'm assuming that as its off a vectra dinosaur...
Flipping heck, this gets all techy, doesn't it?
Um, my actuator appears to work backwards.. :( I thought they opened with positive pressure? Mine is all floppy till I suck on the tube to the...
Cheers guys, lots of working away so no chance to get busy.
So I'd have to get an adjustable one?
Ok, flange being bodged er, made up...
Another question though...
Recirculation valve or not? With the tubby running next to no pressure, would a recirculation be a good idea? I'm not dumping, as...
Heh, cheers Tom, as my Mrs points out to me "you buy projects, not cars"
:wack:
Ok, so after halving my cfm, I'm on the 70% efficient lines of a gt1544, which is handy as I have one in the...
