Moving back to the VVT, can it be stuck open/closed and effect timing?
Bringing up and old thread as have a question on the VVT and inlet cam.
Is it possible that the VVT is holding the inlet cam open/closed at all times, i.e. rather than rattling it is stuck in one...
I am delighted :D
Big, no HUGE thanks to Mark and Joey for all your help over the last, well year!! Lots of ideas, never gave up when I was ready to, owe you guys some beers and a huge favour -...
Thanks :)
Can anyone give me the part number? I'll give Nissan a call.... hisss boooo
I have already used the inside one on the outer edge, does it matter that i just use a normal washer? I.e. doesnt need the rubber element to help fill the hole?
Anyone know where I can get one of these?
I've managed to loose one

Ok, so once again, Mark, Joey and I have checked the timing of everything:
With Crank at TDC:

It does drive and idle smooth at 6degree's, which leadsd most folk to suggest its a tooth out.
I know we have check it a million times, just wondering if its possible to move the chain along a...
No the thought is its already a tooth out.
Thoughts on the above anyone? How would I know which way would I move the chain - if this is the issue?
An Engineer at work listened to my gripe recently and said:
Worth noting that although both the map and knock maps should not run at the same time, they are identical.
Other than that the maps are fine.
Is it possible that with the cams at the correct...
UPDATE:
Replaced the knock sensor - no difference
Checked the outputs from the CAS plug as described in the link above - all reading were present and correct, no loose wire issues with mine... :(...
Good find!
Have one on the way
As Joey has said we didn't fit the CAS correctly, but have since checked the cams, chain and CAS are aligned. Guess the only way to check if the CAS is faulty is to try a known working one/new one?
Have had a fellow S15'r look up the manual for me:
I have it on a CD at home :)
To be honest i'm struggling to find the position of and what a Crank Sensor looks like anywhere.....
@ Joey - Not sure mate, didnt look at them that closely.... You and Mark on holiday together?? :ghey:
By crank sensor, are we talking about the CAS?
I am using Datascan to set the timing, how...
@ HermaN - How do I measure the resistance?
The car doesnt run "badly" at 15*, but is a bit lumpy. The main issue when the timing is at 15* is the heitation when the throttle is opened quickly...
Anyone sell these?
Put it back on then?
Following the post above, I've finaly got round to putting up pictures:

ok, so i have taken off most of the intake side and can see the Knock sensor (KS), the cable that attaches to the KS only has one yellow wire, the plug on the other end of the cable has a yellow and...
