right im trying to find away i can keep my s13, as i don't want to sell it,
suspect turbo has gone as its smokey and losing oil,
im gonna rebuild or replace the turbo, but i want to do the...
and this engine was rebuilt, im not 100% but it should have a thicker HG so lower compresstion is expected...
re did the compresstion test with a little oil in each cylinder, they all went up by exactly 10psi, now,
not to disagree with you but if there is oil in the cylinder then the compresstion will...
there is a small amount just after the turbo (very small amount) and just before the turbo,
cylinder 1 2 3 look like they have a tiny bit of oil in them, (like a very thin coating) the plugs look...
i guess 3 and 4 are slightly low, but i can't see them being the cause of the blue smoke, guess its my turbo...
these are my warm compression results,
1: 150psi
2: 140psi
3: 130psi
4: 130psi

i had an exhuast leak on cylinder 1 for a while, but fixed it, can't see any more, ill check though, im running a strange catback, no cat, it looks like a custom job, was on the car when i got it....

can somone explain how a car can run rich and lean at the same time, my s13 seems to be running rich as exhuast is black, and smells strange, but then on boost id say it was running lean as it starts...
it has been know to backfire on deceleration could it be overfueling? im goin to gut the car monday replace the dogey gaskets, remove the DV as its not a recirc, and remove the turbo so i can inspect...
hi, i have finnaly finished putting the petrol tank back on my s13 and sorting some of the zorst leaks,
it still has a slight leak where the manifold meets cylinder 1, but other then that not...

went to get my s13 today, and yet again, it playied up, but this time for a more major problem,
the fuel tank feel off the car, the straps that hold it in place snapped after i filled the tank,...
has no one heard of this problem before? im more sure its running lean, and i think its done damage to the valves e.g. the clicking on cylinder 1
just had another thought, its running a mines stage 2 ecu, and i was told when i got the car it had a uprated fuel pump in it, if its not uprated or correctly fitted couldn't that cause a similar...
problem still with my s13, but its on the road now so i have more symtoms.
once its warm it misfires realy badly, and it back fires, it does have a exhuast leak on cyliner 1 to the manifold but...

very low, as you come off the throttle 8/10 times it stalls. idles at 400-550 rpm.
just had a major rebuild done on my s13, but it doesn't seen to idle properly, i know thw turbo- manifold gasket is leaking, but didn't think it would affect idle, just replaced the inlet manifold...
