When replacing big end shells with motor in ( ) how do you get the right shell size code? All mine that came out are std with code 4200 (ie code 0) so I could put all new ones this size back...

Just to say that I agree it's prolly exhaust to manifold or tubby to downpipe gasket on the way out - both sound tractor like.
In a week or two you'll know for sure....
Shouldn't do any harm...
Dave
If it's still there, I'll have it - ta very much
I've PM'ed you.

Don't buy a cheap tubby/down pipe gasket - make sure you get a all metal sealed one ~£15 from Nissan (AutoJap may be fine but not sure) Other ones burn out pretty pronto.
If DIY then buy decent...

Sounds like thats my problem.

Can do a simple check the on the CAS - mark it up - remove - turn ign on - turn CAS shaft steadily - look for regular sparks on a plug and hear the injectors clicking nicely without the mota running....
Blastid damn thing
My std mota ('92 Cat) has burnt another zorst valve. 3rd time in 28K.
Previous owner sold it when it went 2nd time - first time she got burnt (sorry;) at Nissan...

Hope it's an easy leccy or fueling prob instead....
Shock shouldn't give/move without resistance at any point. Depends on the shock whether they reset or not.
Sounds knacked to me. Get a mate to drive behind and look for wheel patter - if you can...

Don't say that guys...
Surely it would smoke pretty bad if the rings were that knacked?
I did the head recently, having bought it with a known burnt valve. Compression was OK at the time (~10...
Apart from odd turbo gasket, all been well except for monstrous oil consumption.
On a brisk drive to Southampton it drank about 1L in 155miles!
It's not too fussy what it drinks, 5-40 fully...
Thanks for the tips guys,
Would you believe this:
