Another vote for this. I had the same problem on my S13. My sensor came out using using this method. Chap off the board got his out of his breaker for me using the same method. Just be patient...

I have read that a spare S13 bootlid can fit in the back of an S13 for transport. Can anyone tell me if i need to remove rear strut brace for it to fit?
Thanks :)
Theres an unused connector block on the radio harness with 3 wires. live, ignition live and lights live.
Hi guys. i'm after a decent condition burgandy AH3 bonnet for my S13. have you got one?
Cheers.
ive just fitted an apex FMIC with a westco gel battery. Its very snug - i dont think the battery could be any bigger and still fit
from what I have read the westco battery is meant for mx5's so...
cheers. just what i was after.
I need to get some hose to fit my catch can.
Has anyone used this before?
"clear reinforced PVC hose has a temperature range of -15'C to 60'C. Internal measurement is approx 16mm, external...
hi
Cant seem to get my shiney new Apex FMIC to fit :( The bottom brackets on the cooler are 54cm apart but the fixing points on the car only 48cm apart.
Have i put these in the right place? ...
So is the feed for the boost controller coming from the inlet plenum?
Standard T25 takeoff is on the turbo body before the IC.
Youve still got to be careful choosing a walbro of eBay. Its probably easier to make a fake walbro stamp then making the pump itself ;)
That said i bought one from Motorsports developments off...
Sorted now.
For the record i think it was 2 problems. First fitting the spring probably wasn't seated into a little recess in the end of the bolt so was not central and catching on the thread...
Cheers for all the ideas. I will have a play after work tonight.
I think it came to just under £30 including nextday delivery back to me. A TV repair shop would probably be a little cheaper but i doubt they would cover any expense if something went wrong.
Another vote for someone else doing it ;) But if you do it yourself solder in a socket rather than trying to solder the chip in direct otherwise you might damage it with the heat.
i got my ECU...
ta. I'l have a play. I was hitting around 12psi with free flowing exhaust and filter. We fitted chip, walbro and the controller on Friday.
Might try and pressure up the actuator with a pump and...
still boosts to 20psi :( It does push really strong but i dont want to melt my car.
Before i buy a new boost controller... could it be the actuator? mine looks a bit mangy
It does seem a little random which ones ended up with an LSD. Mine is an October M reg and doesnt have one :O
cheers guys. So its definitely plumbed in right and it looks fine mechanically. I'l stick it back in and see if anything has changed.
If not i guess i might need to splash some cash on a new one...
Just taken it out and cleaned it up - i couldnt see crap that shouldnt be there. The spring seems OK. I have squashed and streched and it always bounces back to its original length.
With the ball...
OSSSSS-------|
Thats kind of how it looks inside. scuse the crap diagram :P
bolt pushing spring, pushing ball towards the left.
Thanks. I didn't really check inside the body but the ball, spring and bolt were spotless. I'l take it off and have a good look tomorrow.
Its plumbed in from the same turbo nipple as the original rubber pipe.
Im pretty sure its fitted right. boost is coming in the straight bit and going out the elbow bit to the actuator
This is what i bought
It looks like an Apex one but they all look the same...
I was thinking that:
fully wound out >> least tension on the spring >> ball gets pushed easier by the boost
but that doesnt seem to be working
maybe i could trim the spring a little?
Bought a second hand dawes device off eday. Looks like a decent one with ceramic ball etc.
We fitted yesterday but even fully wound out it still boosts way too much up to 20psi at the top of my...
