Your lambda sensor may be on the way out. My car has a Horshams Stage 1a chip, and it has only failed once when the lambda sensor was knackered. Replaced it and for the last 12 years she flies...
Very nice!
Great to hear! Post some pics!
Happy New Year!
I have just replaced my gearbox and diff oil. For the gearbox it must be a GL4 oil. I have always used Red Line MT90. As you have stated, the diff oil should a GL5 oil.
So...
Some new goodies just arrived from Oz, and only ordered last week. Some of this was just to get while they are still available for future use, and also because they are so cheap there.
Nissan...
It was actually your comments in the other thread that sold it to me. So thanks! It is heavier duty clutch than my old Exceedy, but yet with a light pedal. It feels really nice!
To follow and on order:
- Clutch master cylinder (Nissan).
- NISMO big bore clutch slave cylinder.
- Braided clutch line to remove the clutch restrictor/ dampener.
- Gearbox gearstick oil boot...
I wasn't sure if the ones on it were butchered or not, and for a few quid extra, why not get new genuine Nissan ones I thought! :-) And they are pennies compared to the overall full cost of the job....
This is the most money, actually the only money apart from servicing that I have spent on Big Red in the last 12 years. But if doing a job, I like to do it right. Or I should say, get it done right....
Cool thanks
To close this off....I never did open that cover. With the bad weather I needed to get everything back together and the gasket on that cover had it well stuck. So I left well enough alone. So if...
Yep, good point! Can you start that pump throught the software?
Okay thanks. Just did as above. Maybe during the summer I'll jump the pump manually and see if it even still turns
Thanks guys
What is the diff fill procedure?
- Just drain and fill to the level? But what about the cooler and lines, do they need to be flushed as well?
- If I just drain and then fill, will it be low on...
My SX just got a new clutch fitted and the garage had an awful time bleeding the clutch cylinders. They suggested removing the restrictor valve as an "upgrade".
Is this a good thing or bad thing? My...
EFI Solutions are amazing for parts, and so cheap compared to European prices.
Ah maybe! When it stops raining I'll take it off and have a look inside!
What is this cover in the sctuttle panel for? What is hiding underneath?

Nice one!
My update is on the other thread. No luck so far. But at least I haven't found gapping rust holes .. yet...
With the scuttle panel still removed, I hosed down the driver's side roof drain, door and down the windscreen into the air cavity. And I did not get any water into the cabin. Hmmm...
I didn't hose...
This is the world over I think. Big companies making a mint off the backs of struggling people and cashing in on the advantages of world events. Sure look at the billions made from Covid! it's the...
Thanks! I will check that tomorrow. I removed the scuttle panel cover today and everything looks okay. So the search continues. Tomorrow I'll get the hose out.
