Hmm sounds like a good plan. 10w 50 is what I used previously and seemed good, it died on 10w 40. Do you think it will be safe to use for a short time until I can get more oil?

Hey guys just started having some serious electrical problems. First the car wouldn't lock or unlock with the fob and just made a very quiet chirp rather than the single and double beep like normal....

It's a different brand this time. Not sure what. Just what my buddy had in. Just seems a smoother tick over really. Only marginally but noticeable to me. Nice big baffled sump too so around 5 litres...

She has a lot of miles on her so just keeps it protected a bit more with a more viscous oil I find

Lovely. Yeah mine went a week after getting the car. Everything seemed fine but the car was run on mineral oil and every oil gallery and spray bar was thick with shit.

Now then. I normally run 10w 50 in my S14 but a friend has a lot of 10w 40 I can have for free. I'm sure it's commonly used enough I SR20DETS but just wanted some opinions as I've had one bottom end...

Good shout will check tomorrow. That could be a factor, have had a minor leak and not checked for a while.

Haha yeah I know I was sure to tell myself off! It's my 4th gear, it's been absolutely whack since the swap because I think I bent the linkage a bit sliding on the underside :( pops out all the time
