Turned out to be a massive leak. Popped a bung out of the dump valve delete somehow!

Checked the gap on the spark plugs, all 0.8.
Back to the drawing board... annoying how they break when left but don't fix themselves when left.
Fair comment! haha.
I'll check the plugs tonight, tried to check the ECU, but they seem to have removed the LED that I used to use on my old CA s13, and I don't have access to a code reader for it.
Thanks for the response, I serviced it using BKR7IEX spark plugs, standard gap, same ones I used on my S15 with no issues.
Engine is stock, with an apexi air filter, full exhaust system and walbro...
Hi all,
After some suggestions on what to look at with my type x.
Drove it to my garage and parked it up no issues at all.
Three weeks later I’ve started it up and left it idling as I swapped...
More often than not it is in that range, I'm not too sure, haven't got any way of telling, it does smell a tad rich, but its a pre-cat model so I just assume thats normal.
Nope, always been a...
Hi All,
I have done a search and cannot find anything about this problem, probably very vague search terms clouded with other issues, but figure I'll just ask.
I have an issue with my idle on...
I have already got them cleaned and flow tested, before I’ve even bought them! My girlfriends father is an injector cleaner so I got them done for free. My last set were beyond help, flows were all...
Thanks for the replies all!!
That's good for me then... Not so much for him, but that's okay.
Hi all,
Just a quick one, what do you think the price of a set of injectors from a standard ca would cost?
My friend has given me a set from his old ca as mine were dead, and I can’t find any...
I've checked the timing and had to advance it from 10 btdc to 15 btdc, but that was with the faulty injectors, not that that should cause any reason for the timing to change? But I will check it...
Sorry to reply so late to this, been busy at work and at home.
But I have fixed the idling issue, turned out to be the injectors, swapped them out with some others and the fault went away.
Now...
That’s okay then, I didn’t see one mentioned in the FSM.
That’s what I thought you meant, mines definitely red, I’ve attached a photo I’ve just taken as best as I can for a dark wet evening....
Sorry, I was talking about connector colour not temp sensor colour. Did you mean the coolant sensor was yellow or the connector? I’ve confused myself I think.
Where is the air temp sensor? Wasn’t...
R3K1355, I have read the fault codes on the ECU since the swap and no fault codes are stored.
I've been referring to the factory service manual through this whole process, and I cant seem to find...
Update:
I've fixed the cold idle issue. Turns out that when the coolant temp sensor died from being connected to the AAC valve plug, it must have sent 12v back to the ECU and broken it somehow. No...
Yeah, compression check results were all okay.
I've inquired about smoke testing before but never managed to find anything local to me, anyone know of any?
Back again, might have to re-title the thread as the smoking has been "fixed", just want to keep everything in one place.
Still having issues with the cold start.
Scouring the wiring diagrams and...
Well, I'm pretty stumped by the squealing noise. I think its a vacuum leak coming from somewhere after installing the check valve which has increased the vacuum, which I'm assuming is normal.
Though...
Thanks for the reply R3K1355. Car is completely standard.
Just put a one way valve in, it was quite small maybe 8mm. Looks like the smoking has stopped!! However the one way valve has created a...
I was being a tad hopeful with the over full oil...
Thanks Jay, appreciate the offer but I think I'm a bit too far away from you to drive for a one way valve! Thanks though!
Anyway, I've done a...
Could you explain the one way valve trick? I've seen mentions of it but nothing solid. Is there a link anywhere?
Compression check is my next step.
I have just gone out to look at the car and...
Thanks for the reply Jay. That's what I was hoping! I've got a friend with a busted CA lump that I might be able to pinch the turbo from. Was just looking on here to get some confirmation or any...
Hi all,
I've just picked up an S13, CA18, and all looked well when I was looking at it and on the test drive.
However, and its a big however, on the drive home, when coming to a standstill, a...
I agree with arry, my girlfriends car is a swift sport and it is immensely fun, I wasn't all for it at first, but it is easily one of the best cars I've driven, and I would say just as fun on back...
