I've toyed with the idea of letting go of mine...
Go on then, who's left, who's new?
I know Ste's still got his. Fry's is still there, just perpetually garaged.
I actually (relatively) recently did see an pre-facelift S13 with pepperpot alloys...
Morning. Yeah, those links are dead, along with probably a lot of that FAQ stuff as it's either ancient or the embedded files were wiped.
If anyone can host the 180sx stuff, the more the merrier,...
Hi folks,
has anyone ever glanced at the self-learn value you get via Consult?
I'm just wondering what typical values are for fairly stock-cars running stock settings, with catalytic...
The S15 has no speedo on the gearbox. Instead the ABS computer takes the speed (I presume from the rear sensor) and feeds it to the dashboard.
Is that link above working? I should look into this as...
I don't know about elsewhere, but I seem to go through a lot of bushes on all my cars around here, probably thanks to the bumps and potholes.
We did used to meet once a month at the Wessington,...
I work in Newcastle Uni :-D.
Not that I'd ever try and drive to work and park there (too much hassle and too expensive).
To be honest, life's got so busy I faded away from meets :-(. Still that...
As things have gradually quietened down, just wondering who's still got a 200SX/Silvia etc?
A few weeks ago I saw a maroon (I think) pre-facelift S13 near International Paint in Gateshead

I enquired about front window trim from Nissan a few years ago (my windows rattle when I shut the door) and it was something like £300, either a side or both, but stupid anyway. Should’ve gone to...
I made my own lathes and then plastered over them when moving a doorway in my house (I've moved from cars to DIY these days :smash:) . It is actually hard to see where I've done it, but I had to sand...
Ah, I should've looked at the pic and remembered they look different :smash:. The man does seem rather certain it's not there, unless he's been looking at the wrong turret :wack:
One difference...
in the S15, there is no 'ignitior chip' as they integrated the transistors into the coil packs. Maybe your car is some late model with S15 coil packs?
Condensation? Even sat in my garage, the lower parts of my car end up with spots of water on them.
Put me down please :)
Apologies if this is asked 100+ times ( I did search :whip: ), but what do folks recommend for standard OEM replacement suspension (springs and dampers)?
As outrageous as it sounds, I just want a...
If you blank off at the air-filter (tin of beans? :wack: ) and then take off one of those blanking bolts so you can blow into a spare air-pipe, then it should be like an incredibly stiff balloon (the...
If you have a torque wrench then a set of crow's feet spanner adapters are great for torquing everything up (as sockets don't fit tie-rods). Unless, that is, you've already got a torque-spanner or...
Bushes? He's wanting steering-rack tie rods (unless I'm totally mistaken). You certainly want new ones as they've got ball joints that wear, so changing them while parts are readily available is a...
I'd get the part number off FAST and search the Internet to see what the genuine and copy prices are.
I got MOOG rear tie rods (HICAS) as I couldn't be arsed to find time to go to Nissan and they...
Permanent magnet AC or even AC induction motors are generally much better than DC motors (smaller, more efficient etc.). Inverter electronics are maybe a grand or two (I work for a firm that makes...
a preserver :wack:
or 'trapped' - too many years and too much effort to want to part with it, even though I know I could buy something 'better'.
Helps that, after a week in a Golf or a Mondeo,...
Thanks Chris/Mark. Was starting to worry I was in some inverted reality :wack:.
It's the 2.0 140bhp diesel in a Titanium, with the 'appearance pack' which gives it tints and silly-big alloys (which...
Maybe times have changed, but I thought it was fair to expect Ford to be better made than the Fiats and Alfas. They're hardly a budget manufacturer and they seem to win enough awards and 5/5 reviews..
We've had a Mondeo TDCI since new(ish), been nice enough to waft the family around in (yes, got one of them too now :wack:), although not hugely economic round the doors (38mpg) and it chews up very...
Has anyone tried a sensor from another car? It's tempting to try one of the £30 Almera sensors off eBay.
They're 'variable reluctance' sensors - very common, but they have to pass the ABS ECU tests...
