Seem to remember reading something on here a while back about the zorst earth thingy, I believe (and I could be wrong)(but it's not likely) that it can cause problems with the Lambda sensor or...

Try unplugging the electrical connector on the inside of your booitlid, this powers the interior boot light and also triggers the alarm when the boot is opened (works off the catch which gets worn)....
