Gotcha. Strictly speaking American yes but built in Germany (amongst other places) like Opel, who are part of General Motors, who are American. The mark 2 was also developed in Saarlouis, Germany so kinda makes it a German car.......kinda:wack:
You could also argue that the Lotus Carlton should not be there as technically speaking the only contribution Opel made was a carlton rolling shell and a 3litre engine, which was then bored out to 3.6 by lotus. The gearbox and hydraulic rear axle (squats down above certain speeds effectively lowering the cars centre of gravity thus sucking it to the road) were robbed from a corvette Zr1 iirc. Almost all the other major parts were robbed from GM's odds n ends bin.
Edit: Aitch got there before I did, damned facebook chat lol:p
 I got the Opel thing, but that was about it :wack: Every day's a school day  - I reckon we need a slight lockdown to german marques only though - otherwise I'm spamming this thread with ****el engined cars :D
A selections of panzer's I find inspirational for different reasons from my collection, no particular order
