Just over 100k there is a slight pink tinge to the roof and passanger rear quarter and small amount of rust on the boot lid but generally a solid/tidy car :D

That really is in amazing condition. So hope you keep it standard and looking like that. It'll be worth a few grand at least soon
I had 16v one in the same colour (Monza Blue) as the one next to yours above. Gave it away after having it in storage for 5yrs :annoyed:
Gwan retro boi......
Mine was a D plate and had the wing mirrors a 1/4 way up the doors as it had front 1/4 windows. The wipers also went the wrong way which made me think that i was a german car converted to rhd

16vs ran late C reg to J reg, thats 6-7years
until half way through E plate (83-87 cars) all Golf 2 had those front windows with the 1/4 galss and the wing mirrors in that position, and the LHD wipers.
late E to Early G (88 & 89) they had the full front window and the RHD wipers
Late G to end, J, (90 & 91) they were Big bumper

Those pics weren't taken at Harewood House by any chance were they? It's just that they had the VW Festival there at the weekend.
Nice motor btw!
Ahh Mk2 16V, the car I lost my license in all those years ago when one angry Traffic Robot posed the question "Do you think your your cars fast son!?" to which I shrugged & he blared "COS WE COULDNT FCUKING CATCH YOU!!"
I loved that car :)
Good choice mate
Very nice, small bumpers always look better to me.
Hope you leave it on 14s. If you can still get standard bushes from VW they're worth it and Koni T/As with standard springs works well, though I prefered Eibachs.
Bit more work done to the gti today she's getting there..
A little update been busy with sorting the front valance today instead of doing it on the car i removed it to make rubbing down preparation and painting a lot easier

Oak green 5dr big bumper is the one for me though
