Anytime, hope this will get you on the road soon :)

right.. I was intending to take lots of pictures of me building the RB25/6 thing, I rather .. forgot.
the head bolts have been torqued now. still waiting on my oil pump from west covina.
Once that's arrived, it can go on, sump can go on, rear main seal can go on..

this is the mock up of the TT setup, I'm rather excited.
aewsome, i want to rub it all over with glee.
I've already done that. :wack:
only things left to buy are:
SS elbows (the standard ones are a cack design)
exh. front pipe that I don't feel too bad about hacking up.
timing belt kit
Z32 ecu
type 2 nistune.
along with waiting for this ruddy oil pump :D
then it'll just be piping it up. not too bad.
think were gunna be the rb sisters at mascrat.
OK, I forgive you now :D
Stirling work sir! Keep going, and other motivational stuff!
looks awesome alan, saw the engine in the flesh today:)
U should open a garage, Garage A! U certainly know what your doing!:sxoc:
more progress.
cams are in & torqued down.
front pulleys are on.
CAS mount is on.
rear turbo manifold & feeds are sorted.
didn't make as much progress as I would have liked, was hampered by the fact I lost the oil banjo bolt that holds the splitter into the block and the fact I discovered one of the exhaust mani stud threads in the head is a bit knackered, so will be fixing that
spoke to the nismo shop, apparently they've had their order of oil pumps in and will be dispatching mine. (i hope).
good news mate ;)
I hope you finish it soon and well
well, the debit from west covina has gone onto my CC - so oil pump should be here soon - will upload a few photos of the current braided line mess.
maybe sticking with the standard hard lines would have been neater :wack: - shame I've seen so many of them fracture, similar to CA & SR lines, so won't be risking it.

exciting stuff happened.
oil pump on, rear main seal housing + new seal on, oil pick up on, sump on.
bit of a faff during as nissan changed the design of the oil pickup during the RB25 production, from o-ring to metal gasket (or the other way around) and having a 50/50 chance of my gasket kit having the right one.. I had the wrong one. had to buy an o-ring kit from halfords for £8 just to get the one I needed :wack:
ordered my timing belt kit & front pipe now. need to finish off the modifications to the oil drains for the VVT & turbos once they're here.
ok...
a few progress... should be interesting to see this finished ;)
will it be this year? =P
should be running by the end of august, in theory, still have to buy a z32 ecu & nistune board but iirc they're the last major purchases.
after some personal injury that involved a trip to A&E whilst enlarging the RB26 exh. manifold gasket to 10mm from 8mm, the long block is done, all timed up.

things left to do:
re-weld turbo drains
weld up collector for drains
few modifications to inlet mani
figure out all the water pipes under the plenum
Z32 ECU is now bought, waiting on that to arrive.
A and E? What have u done pal? Looks good btw!
so yeah, I got a little bored today - I figured I needed to fit the engine to check the clearances on the turbo drains / braided feeds so .. did it.
http://aoph09.dsl.pipex.com/180sx/enginein.jpg
this probably won't be the final fit of it - but it feels good to get it even in for the first time.
btw, an FYI for the board - the front facing RB25 intake plenums fit with the 180sx clutch master cylinder (shorter than the normal CA one).
important things:
clears nice and small 180sx ABS
bonnet closes
clears clutch master
something had to go wrong after these three things and it did. the PAS lines are supposed to be able to take the bending needed to fit the standard lines, first one I came to and it split :censored:
priced up the bits I need from summit racing to replace it, $130 including shipping, for the bits needed to make up a single pas line :wack:
might have to figure that one out a bit more.
Rawbrokerage do a full kit for about that money I think ?
They can do them for RHD too
Ricky is spot on with his replies and pretty quick too
Quote:
Our power steering lines are top quality custom made lines for the rb/240sx swap, we also offer a stainless steel braided line. We do offer 2 lengths as well (LHD and RHD applications)
We would be more than happy to ship to England, just let me know when you're ready to order and I'll create an invoice with a shipping quote for you.
Thanks!
well, just found out that earls performance parts in the UK have what I want - the metric o-ring fitment thing for the rack itself (which is the only problematic thing, the rest pirtek can make up)
so will be ordering one of those and then taking it down to pirtek to get the rest made up - I really don't trust myself making hoses up to seal at 1000psi of pressure, so will get pirtek to crimp them properly.
