Pads or fluid?
Hi guys,
I don't use my S14 on the road that much....until now! So I drove it to japfest and did a session on the track, I noticed after a few corners or hard braking it felt like the brakes were fading a little/not stopping that well. Is it likely to be the pads or the fluid?
My current setup is: -
DBA discs front
DBA R33 rear discs,
Carbon Lorraine front pads and standard rear pads
Master cylinder stopper
Super doper brake fluid, think it's the motul one?!
The current setup worked amazingly on track, when the pads warmed up it was brilliant, I'm just wondering if the pads are dead from lack of use/water ingress.

Aren’t cl pads a track pad? If so they probably have a crap cold bite.

The rc5's are really a track pad, but I have the 6's. They used to act as you said, but now they seem different.

Even from cold my CL pads bite was insane... Which is surprising for a track pad.
Setup sounds good and shouldn't get fade that quick, but Combe is a fast track...
Have you checked the disc's/ pads aren't contaminated? Also are you still on standard calipers? They have a habit of binding.
Maybe a re-bleed could also help incase you have some air in the system.

I'd deglaze the pads and change the brake fluid for silicone 5.1 or Dot 4.
If you have 5.0 in there, its massively hygroscopic so will have sucked up buckets of water over time.
Basically, DOT 5 race fluid needs changing very often.
