I'm looking for a new daily, since my wife will have dibs on my Audi while she's on maternity leave, so I have been looking at Clio 182s. Something small, and fun, that won't break my wallet or cause loss of license.
Anyone have any hands on experience with these?

Yep i would... .well i wouldnt cos FWD, mass produced french hatchback ect... but if i do like em, well i dont cos FWD and mass produced french hatchback ect.. but they are decent wee pocket rockets ... well i say that but they are FWD and ma........

Worth considering a mk1 Fabia VRS
They're great little cars and come with a really nice spec for a cheap 15 year old hatchback.

Cruise control
Common faults are lambda sensors and injectors, both are fairly cheap and simple to replace.
The big cost item is the cambelt, it's a specialist job that if not done perfectly puts the timing out and robs loads of power.
It's the valves that usually go not the cambelts (unless it's massively overdue a change)Quote:

Good choice, enjoyed mine. Surprisingly capable, and not even devoid of a bit of torque. Comfy, and surprisingly, mine was almost totally reliable. Struggled with image a bit, but that aside, I'd own another.
A remap smooths out the power curve and makes the idle (especially cold) better.
A couple of parts are out of production now, the cup springs, the high level brake light, spacer for the rear brake discs and I think the handbrake cables.
Some aftermarket alternatives are around so it's not end of the world.
