Turbo Experts, need some guidance...
I've tried other forums but most seems to have their heads stuck up their asses, soo i thought i'd ask the gurus of all things turbo....:)
Right. My little project alfa 147 is crawling along. The plan is: put a K03 turbo (K03 051) on to run at 5psi boost.
I have done a lot of maths. So much so that my head now hurts....
Using "street turbocharging" and " "turbocharging na cars on a budget" i have done the following equations....
Displacement: 96.9Cu/in or 1599cc
Want 5 psi, so Pressure ratio (PR) is 1.34
Volumetric Flow Rate (VFR@ 100%) = 197 Cu/ft min
VFR x Volumetric efficiency (85%) = 168 Cu/ft/min
Air fudge factor means i have 12.59Lbs of air a minute, using a density ratio of 1.7= 21.40Lbs min of air.
K03 seems ok to me, and as its only going to be ticking over, it'll last until i get bored!!
All good so far....
FUEL!!!!
OEM injectors; 0280 155 769: 182cc@3bar, 14.5 ohm EV6
Now.... ive found a formula that says that if you divide your required HP (200) by the amount of injectors you have (4) then multiply that by 5 (fudge factor) then that will give you your required cc of injector. Ie: 250cc. Mine are short, as you can see.
My question is this.....(first of many!!) Can the ecu cope if i put in injectors that are only 20% out of oem?
I'm looking at volvo 0280155832's @12ohm and 249cc.
LUBE:
My other question is regarding the oily stuff. I have a tapping on the end of the head, which can supply the oil (already been done and proven) but the restrictors have me confused! Do i restrict oil flow before the chra or after it? I'm looking at a 1mm or 1.5mm port but am a little fuzzy on where to put it!!
TIA.
Ian.
