Looks like im safe enough then"With more attacks threatened and anthrax panic mounting, it's obviously
time to make a run for it. But where to? Oliver Burkeman (in today's
Guardian G2 supplement) searches for a safe haven."

Along with Antarctica, the Maldives and the Moon, he lists Reading...

"Nothing interesting has ever happened in Reading, with the arguable
exception of Oscar Wilde's imprisonment, and there is no indication
that anything interesting is ever going to happen there in the future,
making it an ideal haven for those seeking refuge from the interesting times
in
which we live. This would seem to rule out the risks of terrorist
atrocities, anthrax attacks, collateral damage from cruise missiles and
unexpected

coalition-building visits from Tony Blair - although international
lawyers have convincingly argued that the Utopia nightclub on Pincents Lane on

a Friday night constitutes a crime against humanity.

I think I would rather take the Anthrax risk than go to Reading!

Now, the Maldives is not a bad idea, I was there in March and I can honestly say its the most beatuiful place on the planet.

I would have to agree with that, the worst night club I have ever been to!!

Hey, I used to work in Reading... and the only interesting thing is a small shop called Hypnotic! (down a small ally off the high street) - Which sold an incredible ammount of interesting things...

What a moron! With major US I.T. firms being targeted and Microsoft, Oracle, etc having huge campuses (campii?) in Reading it's so obviously not a target ...

Actually, there was an amusing drunken tramp, a kind of old fat guy with a black beard, who used to should loudly at shoppers! I don't know if he's still there, but I couldn't help but laugh!

As someone who's lived in Reading for the past 4+ years I can say this about the place. It is a boring ****hole.

However it has the honour of being one of the most violent cities in Britain and up until a couple of years ago was the rape captital of the UK. Weird, huh?

I can only suggest that when there's bugger all to do all the poor people who can't afford RWD Turbo monsters must start hurting people.

Interesting it makes it into the top violent cities without actually being a city! Hard to have a quick race with someone without them looking like they are gonna pull an uzi on you.

When this all kicked off, I felt smug being in Barrow (the town at the end of the longest cul-de-sac in the world...) - nothing would ever happen here.

Until I realised where the British subs shooting the cruise missiles were made.

And then I read that if Sellafield was hit with a Jumbo, it would result in a disaster like Chernobyl, only 2.5 times worse.

Then I realiased that Sellafield was just up the coast.

Fricking hell - Barrow must definitely be Osama's number one target in this country! Help! http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/eek.gif http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/wink.gif

If terrorists really wanted to create nationwide panic they would release chemicals in somewhere obscure, like say Melton Mowbrey. Everyone half expects London/Birm/Manchester to be targeted but if a little town of no major significance is hit it will put the ****z up everyone.

Naah, Melton Mowbrey wouldn't be any good as a target for a chemical attack. It is well known that the population has built up a natural immunity to all haxardous toxins on account of continued exposure to leakage from the pie factory.
