Moving to Essex (Thurrock) soon - need advice/help!

Hi guys,

Despite my love of Wales, I need a change.

Got me a job teaching in Chafford Hundred from Sept :thumbs:, but I need to be up there between July 1st and 21st.

Does anyone know of anyone who maybe has a room to rent for this period? Just me, my 200 (or CB500) and a pad of paper (literally).

I'm having no luck finding such a short term let and can't afford 3 wks B&B. I'll pay the going rate of course, so any help would be greatly appreciated :notworthy

edit: within 15 - 20 miles of Chafford ideally!

Hi mate, I live 2 mins away from Mark down here too, so can also keep an eye out for you. My girlie's just said that a lady she works with is thinking of renting a room out. She lives in Chadwell st Mary which is probably a 5 min drive into Chafford. She's gonna ask her about it tomorrow for you.

just so you know (as you probably dont being in Wales) that would involve a commute by road of around 30-45mins each way at peak times ;) :)

The commute in Essex is the main reason I just bought a CB500 bike - it was a hundred times worse than Swansea when I was up there a few weeks back :eek:

I know of a room to rent in Grays, which is pretty cheap but you will have the inconvenience of living with a Mum and 2 kids of 10 and 12 (boys, fairly noisy and hyperactive)

I can find out exact details for you if you wish? Its about 5-10 mins drive literally

Thanks guys, if you can get me a yes/no and prices I'd be well happy. Bear in mind I only need it for 3 weeks in July (and possibly a longer rent in Sept depending what happens) so I don't want to inconvenience anyone.

Don't mind living with a family - I teach hyperactive kids all day and in my karate class! I can handle 'em :D :whip:

The room is available @ £50 a week but the drawback being I'm not 100% certain they'd be space for the bike to sit in the garage, which in a place like Grays is a bit of an issue :(

She said that she may not have a room herself as she's unsure whether her tenant is staying on (uni student I think) but she does know of someone else who rents a room so either way she should be able to help you :)
