Completely. A combination of wet road, an off camber corner ... and the lack of hindsight before the incident http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/frown.gif

None of the ten coppers, two paramedics or countless other people at the scene could believe I walked away without a scratch, but the car is now somewhat undriveable ...

Now I've got to wait until the middle of next week to see if they're going to write it off.

Stu,

http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/frown.gif My heart goes out to you. At least you're OK though. http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

We have the technology, we can rebuild the 2*****.

If its not a write off, get traction control. I know its about £500 or £600, but is really worth it.

John.

Cheers for the condolences guys http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

TC is indeed now very high on my list of priorities, and I'd love a demo to see the difference myself.

However, for the moment, I'll just wait to see what the insurance say ... and keep taking the tablets for a rather stiff neck.

Sorry to hear that Stu - my brother crashed my S13 into a crash barrier coming off a wet bend onto a slight off camber road, it didn't look like much damage, but they wrote it off. If your car is less than 1 year old, most insurance policies give you a brand new car to replace it, which wouldn't be too bad.

Car now dearly departed except for...
Blizt FATT type S turbo timer and a black ally tax disc holder. Just got a traction control system now, all I want is a 200SX again...

Stu - unlucky mate, hope it works out Ok.
Nearly did the same to my S13 on the same motorway. Actually, it was joining the start of the m'way at the Preston end soon after I'd got my car. Old codger in front had just cut me up coming off the big roundabout so I pulled out and accelerated going round the first left-hander (before the M6 turn-off). Road was damp, I was in 3rd, 50+, when the turbo kicks in! Next thing I know the back end has flicked out and I'm heading for the armco. Took both lanes and about 100yds before it was back under control. Since learnt to keep an eye out for the magic 4000rpm when accelerating round corners. http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/smile.gif

That's exactly where it happened. If you go past there at the moment, you'll notice that the barrier on the right (just after the bend) has a section that's 2 foot higher than the rest ... that's where I hit it http://300zx.co.uk/200sx/ubb/frown.gif

The really daft thing though, is that despite all the destruction, I was most worried about the recovery guy scraping the exhaust as he loaded it onto the truck !

The shock hadn't quite kicked in at that point ...
