Depending upon when the Welsh guys are going (I'm going on the Friday), a slight detour Northwards and we could join up with them along the A40 towards Oxford.

Then onto Exeter moto for us Torbay etc lot
Then Bristol Services to be picked by the Bristol, Taunton and Welsh lot

May be interested in joining a Friday convoy.

Someone needs to decide the route though. Fecked if I'm driving over to join the M5!

We could always go via Oxford. Meet up on the A40, Cheltenham side or on the A34 going towards the M40. But that means you can't use my country route. :annoyed: :annoyed: :D :D

_Rob_
05-04-2004, 19:15
ok could everyone post or PM their prefered meeting place to pick up the convoy for the trip up on friday? i will then try to formulate an easy and mutually agreable route!

Lol :D Yeah, may as well mate :)

Rob, can I suggest the Leigh Delamere Services on the M4. It's just by the Chippenham junction (17). Should be a good meeting point and is on the way :)

Nicely

If everyone goes on the M4, then all us southern bods can head up the A34 and meet you at the Chieveley Services.

I'm sure that not taking the country route would generally be considered a good thing?! :p

Anywhere around Bristol's a good place for me, as Wherever you meet (nearly) is towards Billing for me :D
(leigh Delamere sounds good, the welsh lot can meet us there too. As that's where I met Tone for Santa Pod  )

22-04-2004, 09:34
Just my 2p ;) but I reckon that (boring though it is) M5,M4,M25,M1 is the quickest route, less traffic, although the M5,M4,A34,A421,M1/A422 is a nice & fairly direct route. (Remember, AVOID the A303 at all costs!!!)

I know this because I do Bedford to salcombe (Devon) and back every year.
(Down to 3 1/2 hrs in the SAAB! :D )

Right, I'm gonna do me best, but I am not sure whether I'll be going up on Friday or Saturday yet... Might be joined by a mate in a skyline too. I'm Swindon, and he's Newbury, so somewhere on the M4 would be good, Chieveley is great. Leigh Delamare is possible (all assuming we're coming on the Friday).

Is anyone out there thinking about heading up on Saturday, in a follow up convoy?

Cherry1809 i think it was me you had a bit of a play with last year on the way home from jae of some other car show. Was fun from what i can remember.
And yes i do mean drinky time as the motor will no doudt of drank enough by then.

Sammysideways, where will you be coming from? The route is still being discussed at the mo but no problem meeting up somewhere on the way as there will be a few meeting points.

How about putting up mobby nos for one person per meeting point so if someone is going to be a bit late for some reason everyone could contact them.

I will add mine for cornwall and on route meet up if any :wack:

Me, though at this rate I'll need to take a shed load of leave time to get the car done in time (it currently being in the state pictured below)

Chieveley Services good for me, or failing that anywhere along the M4.
