Anyone know anything about the Alpine 3527 Amp?

Or Alpine's homepage address.

I believe it was 2 x 60W RMS. Nice punchy sound, had it running 2 8 inch coax speakers once, the bass was looouuud! These were Alpine 3 way coax.

Prolly about 10 years old though. End of life if amp has been thrashed?

Cheers, any idea how much it's worth?

What it is, a guy at work has offered it to me so I have refusal etc on it, just wanted to know if it's a valid cheap upgrade.

Do you reckon it would be useful for subs, I'm ot into rediculous bass or anything, just a nice full sound.
Or would it be better for powering my front coax 4 way 6x9's?

How can you thrash an amp? Surely Alpine quality would ensure components are used with good stability and tollerence.

Cheers,
Jezz.

Cheers Didin, just mailed them to see if they can dig a user manual out of the archives for me.

Although you might think Alpine would build their amps to stealth quality, I've manage to fry 2 V12 MRV-1507s - how???
By simply allowing the plus and the minus wires to tough together for more than 5 secs. The protection circuit doesn't kick in, the fuse 80amp fuse doesn't pop, instead the mosfets short circuit and the amp goes up in smoke, leaving a BBQ smell in you boot for about 2 weeks!! So beware.
If you want a "proper" quality amp, go for something like Soundstream, genesis, or DLS.
