Got one of the new Pioneer head units. MEH-7300.
With the sony in the S14a it used to trigger the power aerial when radio source activated, then put it down when you went back to CD. The pioneer was a straight swap just using the connectors provided but it doesn't activate the power aerial to do anything now!!

What's going on? Anyone.

The pioneer will have its own elec A. triggering wire which you should wire to the aerials switch wire. The aerial should have its own live and earth.

I am trying to fit a P6300 unit to mine but they dont fit very well, have you fitted yours with the screws in the side or did you cut out the opening?

I have just bought and fitted a Pioneer DEH-P7400MP. I just plugged the ISO connectors in and that's it, job done. The electric aerial worked as well......weird!!

Damn hate it when someone else gets it to work first time ;)

Cheers for the suggestions on aerial.

No I don't reckon it fits that well actually. There was a spacer on the sony job to fill the small gap at the bottom. It's too big for the pioneer. I may have to sand it down or something. Another fiddly weekend job! Along with fitting the sub. God only knows how I'm gonna run a power lead from the battery to the boot.

If only I was rich I'd pay someone.......

by the way dano. I used the screw approach in the side. The ones that were holding the sony in place did a grand job.

Did you have to fit an adaptor lead to plug the pioneer into the s14 wiring loom? If so are you sure it has an electric antenna feed in it, you'd be suprised how many dont.

It is a good unit and plays MP3's with ID3 tagging and loads of other features. You can get well over 100 tracks on 1 cd :D :D

The MEH-P7300R is £699.99 at halfords!

I have seen in the cheapest on the web for £387.50 but they never had any in stock. I paid 424.99 for it. You have to weigh up the cost of postage and any other bits you want. And yes it is good, very good. It had mini disk long play so I can squeeze 4 cd's onto 1 minidisk. It was from hendon car stereo. V.fast service from them.
